Hopkins Creek Interceptor Project

This project consisted of the installation of a new gravity sewer line in wet and rocky conditions. Nearly the entire length of the line was drilled and blasted in order to install our sewer line. A total of 6,710 LF of 24” DIP (zinc coated) was installed at depths ranging from 8’ deep to 28’ deep and a total of 2,113 LF of 8” DIP (zinc coated) was installed at depths ranging from 8’ deep to 24’ deep. We also utilized our 48” tunnel boring machine to install 580 LF of 48” steel casing through solid rock and completed a jack and bore of 80 LF of 16” steel casing under multiple cross-country gas lines. Two pump stations were taken out of service on this project and two miles of existing 24” lines were cleaned and had CCTV footage completed by our forces. A park had to be restored with the construction of this project as well and we replaced hardscape items, concrete flatwork, landscaping and asphalt pavement for this item. Live staking of stream crossing for wetland mitigation was also required at five locations on this project.
